PhD

I graduated from the University Grenoble Alpes, France in January 2020 with a Ph.D. in ocean physics. My dissertation was on cross-scale interactions and turbulent cascades in the North Atlantic Ocean.

Understanding turbulent cascades in the ocean at the basin/global scale is partly a big data problem, and my work involved the analysis of large-scale multidemisonal geophysical datasets (generated from realistic numerical simulations). Most of the analyses were carried out on high-performance computing platforms while using scalable parallel computing tools. During my thesis, I developed powerspec , to estimate the statistical variance of kinetic energy and the turbulent cascade of oceanic flows. My results have contributed to some of the publications mentioned below.

During my PhD studies, I was privileged to travel to many international conferences and workshops (see my activity page) where I had the opportunity to shear my work and also interact with distinguished scientists in the field of physical oceanography and big data in geosciences.
